Author Biography:
David Hugh Scott was born in Orangeville, ON on August 6, 2002. He has lived all of his life in this small town north-west of Toronto, and is active in the community and with his friends. His interests include karate, Lego building, computer gaming, music, and in 2014, David discovered the pastime of Geo-Caching. During the warmer seasons, David enjoys bicycling on the roads and trails in and around his home town.
He regularly attends karate and jiu jitsu classes at the Johanis’ Karate School, both as a student and as a member of their SWAT Team. David was awarded his Karate Junior Black Belt in June of 2014 after approximately 5 years of studying and training in this martial art. In addition to karate, David hosts a weekly Lego Club and also maintains a newspaper route for a local news publisher.
While he enjoys a wide variety of computer games, Minecraft is a favourite and he has learned to set up his own Minecraft Server which he and his friends will play the game together on. He is also learning other computer skills including programming in Python.
David is an avid reader, and when not enjoying other activities, he will be frequently found in his room or on a sofa with a book in his hands. He has read many genres of books that include both fiction and non-fiction.
After learning from his mom, Wendy Woudstra, about the NaNoWriMo organization and their campaign to encourage novel writing by designating November as “National Novel Writing Month,” David decided that he wanted to author a novel himself. This decision lead to the completion of The Chosen (Tales Of The Ablockalypse) which the author hopes to be the first in a series of books and are based on a Minecraft theme.
The book is presently available in Kindle Format on both Amazon.com and Amazon.ca, and in a printed softcover edition on Amazon.com. The printed softcover edition will be available on Amazon.CA soon.
David loves home baked bread and is now almost a professional himself at preparing the ingredients and baking an Artisan bread loaf which seldom lasts longer than a day before being fully consumed.
