Ontario Association Of Library Technicians Website Design - E-Commerce & Memberships
In 2015, the Ontario Association of Library Technicians were in need of a new website design that was responsive, fast and capable of real-time E-Commerce and private Membership area. Their old website was based on an old and very insecure Drupal platform that had not been updated in years. In addition, the membership records were outdated and the information on the website had not been maintained.
After receiving proposals from various web designers, the Association chose The Ian Scott Group of Orangeville for their new development due to the fact we had solid skills in PCI Compliance, E-Commerce, and had the coding abilities to migrate their membership (usernames and encrypted passwords) to a new WordPress platform. Because of the differences in the encryption hash, it was not a straightforward job to migrate the users from one platform to another - but the migration was carried out perfectly well. In addition, we were able to help them prune their membership roles so that it was up to date.
The Association also required E-Commerce to make it simpler for their Membership to renew their annual dues as well as purchase tickets to their events. PCI Compliance was necessary and we were able to integrate with their payment processor, Moneris.
Training was then provided to their staff so that updates and administration of the website could be handled "in-house."
