Orangeville Blues & Jazz Fest Weekend
This year, the festival begins Thursday evening, June 4, 2015 and runs until Sunday, June 7th. It’s always a wonderful time with the downtown area being filled with the sounds of extremely talented and entertaining musicians. The music at the main stage behind Orangeville’s Town Hall is always free, as are many of the other venues where you can listen to live music.
Although our office is within “listening” distance (we can hear the music from the main stage at our location), it’s much more fun to be right there. There are always great food vendors offering a wide choice of meals and snacks as well as other businesses with tables showcasing their products. For adults, there is also the beer tent at the main stage.
The festival has been going on since 2003, and the first one was memorable for us. Although it was only a one day event, people responded so well to it that it became an annual affair, growing to become a much larger festival that attracts crowds from all over. It now also includes a classic car “Blues Cruise” as well as a motorcycle “Show & Shine” event. The organizers always do a fantastic job with many volunteering to assist, and as a result, the Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival has won a number of awards over the years.
In 2014, an estimated 30,000 visitors to Orangeville arrived to enjoy the festival’s music and activities.
This year’s lineup looks to be excellent with 80 acts on five different stages throughout town, and we’re looking forward to another great year listening to blues and jazz music in Orangeville, Ontario. We might be away from the office phone, but if you need us, you can come look for us at the Main Stage area, or call our mobile number – (519) 939-8050. We’ll have the ringer up loud!
More information about the event at the official website.
Yes! It’s finally here again. We’re all looking forward to heading up to Orangeville to listen to some great music. One of the problems though is Orangeville has such little accommodations available and gets booked up quickly for that weekend. Have to stay away from the beer tent 🙂
LOL.. yes, I can see that as being a bit of a problem for those coming from out of town, John. But the music is still worth it! 🙂 Hope you have a great time and give us a call and we’ll meet up.
Ian… We’ll be seeing you, I hope. Heading up to Orangeville on Saturday. I’ll give you a shout before we arrive. Weather forecast is looking good.
Awesome, Jim! Send me a text or give me a ring when you get close. Look forward to seeing you again. It’s been awhile!
