Professional Development – WordCamp Europe
We’re delighted to announce that some of our team including our founder, Ian Scott, will be attending WordCamp Europe this year. WordCamp is a conference that is held in various parts of the world and is focused on anything and everything about WordPress, the platform that the majority of our websites are built on.
Three days filled with learning and networking with other WordPress developers from across the world with a party, Greek style (you really need to enjoy how Greeks can put on a party), at the conclusion of the event.
Being hosted in Athens this year is an awesome opportunity for The Ian Scott Group as we have close connections with Greece, although headquartered in Orangeville, ON. This event will be a tremendous opportunity to learn more and to help our clients through expanding our own knowledge and skill set in the WordPress platform.
This year, WordCamp Europe begins on June 8th, with “Contributor Day” where we can meet with existing and new contributors to the WordPress platform. The main conference days are June 9th and 10th.
One of the things our team is most looking forward to is meeting Rodolfo Melogli, an Italian who speaks English with a delightful hint of an Irish accent. Rodolfo has been a big part of the some of the successes of The Ian Scott Group and has provided key information and assistance at various times. We’re proud of the fact that we have a personal relationship with Rodolfo, and it is likely there is not a serious WordPress agency anywhere that has NOT used some of his snippets to solve a problem or come up with a solution to something that is WordPress/WooCommerce related. Often clients will ask for some unique feature for their WordPress/WooCommerce site and in trying to find the answer, a website agency will likely come across a solution that Rodolfo has already figured out and then freely published, and that can be modified or customized further.
The WordCamp Europe event of 2023 offers more than just professional WordPress education. It also offers access to some of the most incredible history with close proximity to ancient archeology which is not to be missed.
Will you be in Athens for WordCamp Europe? Let us know and we can meet for a bite of famous Greek souvlaki or coffee.
