Several weeks ago, we were contacted by a business owner who was wondering if we’d take a look at the search optimization of their website. Of course, SEO is one of our services and many websites badly need improved SEO, both on-site and off-site. Generally speaking, we want to focus first on the on-site optimization which many web developers neglect. It does take time to implement and it can be time consuming to keep up with changes.

We took a look at their site and although some of the elements of SEO had been implemented, it had not been done completely. Some of the issues included duplicate description tags which provided very little information as well as page title tags that were completely generic. If the websites’ pages did appear in search results, the Title and description tags would not tell searchers much about what they would find. There was no incentive really for a searcher to click through from the search results to the website.

Furthermore, the website had been developed some years ago, and since that time, mobile device usage has soared! Not only could this website have it’s basic search engine optimization improved, it really needed a makeover with a more modern look along with responsiveness to browser size. Their old site was simply not mobile device friendly whatsoever and of course, Google has announced that responsive design is now a ranking factor.

After some discussions with Rick Kowacz, the founder of Premier Safety Training, we believed we were a good fit for each other and that The Ian Scott Group could provide services that would help with his business’ internet presence, beginning with a new website design.

We got down to work and are proud to say that we launched the new website of Premier Safety and went live on September 23rd, 2015.

Premier Safety Training provides Workplace Health & Safety training throughout the Province of Ontario to a variety of industrial firms. I was very impressed in our discussions and meeting with Rick – my father was also involved in the Health & Safety consulting field for a long time and it was good to be able to relate to each other with some of that knowledge and experience in mind.
