New Photography Website Launch
The Ian Scott Group is proud to announce the launch of a new photography website for Ontario photographer, Marc Denis. It was the first photography website we have completed, and as we developed it, there were quite a few changes. The original concept was for Mr. Denis to take orders for prints on Stretched Canvas with WooCommerce and he would fulfill the orders using a photo printing service that he was familiar with.
However, after some investigation and research, it was agreed to integrate the services of Pictorem – a high-quality photo print on demand platform that provided the ability for Mr. Denis’ fans to order prints of his beautiful photos in a variety of formats and sizes.
We still used WooCommerce on his own site, but more in a way of providing a “gallery” for his photos, and then linking each photo to Pictorem where customers can then purchase his photo(s) printed to whatever medium the like including Stretched Canvas, Canvas Roll, Metal, Wood, Framed Prints and even Wall Clocks. As well, Pictorem offers free shipping on all their products within North America. Some products including the Stretched Canvas however, are not available for any shipping to outside of Canada and the United States.
One of the great things about using WooCommerce and on his own personal domain is that if Mr. Denis ever decides to change the print on demand service, he can keep his own content on his own website and has the flexibility of making other choices in the future. This way, he’ll not lose any search rankings he might have for his personal site.
We were also able to set up a subdomain (https://prints.marcdenisphotography.ca/) of his main domain name that hosts the Pictorem platform and removes all of their branding from his photo gallery on their platform.
Immediate Google Indexing
We created the site in a staging area with discouraging search bots from indexing the site while it was under development. When we launched the site earlier this week, it was, always, one of the first things we do – is to undo this and encourage search bots to index.
Often, it can take some weeks for Google and other search engines to index a website and include it in search results. So we were very happy to see that within two days, the website was already ranking for his name with the word “photographer” after it.
Marc’s Photography
Marc is a photographer who loves to roam around Central and Northern Ontario on an ATV – he gets into parts of the Province where others are able to get into giving him the opportunity to capture unique views through his camera lens. Presently, he has included 17 of his photos on his website and also made available for purchase on Pictorem.
We have several favourites that include:
Peninsula Marsh: a beautiful photo with vivid colours showing a diverse Eco-system in one of the Bruce Peninsula marshes.
Boat Lake Creek – the rustic bridge really catches the eye and Marc composed this photo in a great way – with the lush greenery around the banks of the creek.
Have a peek at his photos yourself – perhaps you’ll find one or more photos you’d love to see on one of your home or office’s walls.
